Whirlwind Wednesday

Yesterday was another rough morning, but it was followed by a goodnight for me. However, it wasn’t quite the same for Adam. Our roles have been reversed (sort of). He has been vomiting and has severe diarrhea. I feel terrible for him and wish I could just make him feel better; I think I know how he feels now, taking care of me all the time. He’s a trooper and I am praying for a speedy recovery. He’s been sick since about one o’clock last night and has been sleeping it off today.

I talked to a good high school friend last night about pregnancy and baby things. Jamie V. had a baby in July and is a great source for all sorts of information. It was great to catch up on life and talk about all this fun baby stuff:)

It was beautiful yesterday, not so much today though. Yesterday it was 71 degrees and felt like an amazing spring day. Last night and today it has been windy and rainy. Like the title says, it’s been a whirlwind Wednesday (between A sick, me sick, and this weather)!

Friday we are headed up to see Adam’s parents. We haven’t seen them since June, so it’ll be nice to go see them for a couple days. I really hope Adam (& I) are feeling better by then.

I haven’t mentioned this for a while despite the fact that I’ve known about it for almost a month. I just wanted to get more details before I wrote about it. Let’s just say the McBride side has had a hard Jan and Feb. So here it goes: When my Grandpa passed away in January, my Grandma had these sores in her mouth. After the funeral and family events were done, she went and had surgery to remove the sores. They removed all the sores and sent them to the lab to be checked for cancer. And unfortunately they were found to be cancerous. The Dr. that did the surgery sent my Grandma to go see some other specialist down in Omaha. At the end of last week she went in for more test and to talk with the doctors. They decided on Monday that they would try surgery to see if they can remove all the cancer from her mouth and hopefully take care of it all. She has to go down for one more visit at the end of this week and then she will have the surgery on the 24th. My Grandma doesn’t smoke or chew tobacco, yet she has mouth cancer:( I think it’s been hard on her kids who are still grieving over their father they lost. I pray that the surgery goes well and they are able to remove all the cancer. My Grandma is in really good spirits and keeps everybody else positive.

It’s been a whirlwind today and I really hope tomorrow is peaceful.

"For great is his love toward us, and the faithfulness of the LORD endures forever. Praise the LORD."- Psalm 117:2

Adam and Angie, We enjoyed your visit over the week-end. I was sure glad that the weather stayed nice so your Dad didn't get called into work. Thanks for letting me give you one boweling lesson. It was nice that Angie and I could have time for us to go shopping. I enjoyed watching her pick out the fleece for the baby blanket. I had fun playing hearts and old heck. I hope that you know that our door is always open if you want to ever just get away. We'd love seeing you anytime. Take care of our grandchild. We love you both. Nancy
