Jacob's first sign

I'm so excited I was able to record this, especially considering he already signed it a couple times before I grabbed the camera.

So here's what happened: Jacob and I were signing and playing with a toy ball, when all of a sudden he did the "ball" sign back to me. He did it a couple times, before I ran and got the video camera in hopes that he would do it would it again.....and he did. We've seen him sign 'milk' and 'more' before, but never 3-4 times in a row.

"So is this considered his first word?" -Daddy=)

A picture perfect day!

On the go & 34 wk highlights!

There is truly never a dull moment in the household now that I’m on the go and chasing our doggy around, which is why my highlights are coming a couple days late. I continue to grow mentally and psychically every day and am slowly figuring out how everything works in this big ol’ world. Here's what I've been up to this past week.

34 wk highlights:

-I officially turned 8 month! I weigh 22.4 lbs and am 28 ¾ in long.

- I celebrated my 1st St. Patrick’s Day! Mommy dressed me up in green and topped the outfit off (royally) with a green top hat. I didn’t really care to wear the hat, but instead enjoyed playing with it and the balloon.

-I crawl everywhere! The instant I’m set on the floor, I’m off like “Speedy Gonzales” (M& D like to call me this, although they haven’t seen anything yet, just wait until I can walk and run). I can go extra fast on the hardwood. Each day I get a little better technique and just a little faster.

-I’m rocking on all fours. Every time I lunge over to get down and crawl, I will rock back and forth on all fours. I then go to my belly and take off. Each day I stay up a little longer than before and it won’t be long until I’m a hands and knees crawling dude.

-Not only do I love to crawl everywhere on my tummy, I also like to flip over to my back and push with my legs if I’m on the hardwood. Daddy says it looks like I’m doing a squat; just practicing so I can hit the weight room with him later!

-Anytime I go to stretch my arms, it looks as though I’m pointing to the weight room, so M&D insist on saying, “Weight room” the instant my arms go over my head. Don’t they know I’m just stretching; silly parents!

-Now that I can crawl, I’m starting to climb up things too. Mommy calls me her “Little Monkey,” and insist I’m going to climb right out of her arms one of these days.

-I didn’t have little gym this past week because our teacher was gone, so I didn’t get to show off my new trick, but can’t wait until we have class again to show them how fast I get around now days.

-The other day Mommy and I were playing on the blanket, when I rolled to the edge of it and began rolling myself into a burrito. Of course Mommy snapped a pic and we couldn’t help but laugh about the predicament that I was in.

-After a couple months of just biting on the top of my toy that spins the balls around, I have finally figured out how to push down the button myself and get the balls to spin.

-The other day one of those balls from the spinning toy got away, so I chased (crawled) after it. Once I would reach for, it would move again….so frustrating, but finally I got it and into my mouth…..success!

-I think I say this every week, but I really do love our doggy! Anytime, M/D say and sign “Dog/Rambo” I go nuts waving my arms and running a 100 yd dash with my little legs. I especially love Rambo, now that I can get to him via crawling. I love to crawl after Rambo and his toys’. And I laugh nonstop when Rambo is playing fetch with M/D.

-Not only do I love crawling after Rambo’s things, I also love chasing after Mommy’s crocks. I don’t really know what it is about them, but whether they’re on her feet or across the room, I think I need them!

-The weather here is beautiful so Mommy takes me for a run almost every afternoon, of course I nap while she runs, but I really do enjoy it and am out like a light the instant we take off.

-M&D have also been taking me on stroller rides to the park in the evenings. I love to be outside and especially love going on walks/“rides.” M&D let me swing a little last time and even let me go down a couple slides. Daddy was so anxious to take me down the slide that nothing was going to stop him, except the fact that his legs are too huge that he got stuck going down. Priceless moment:)

-I flew a kite for the first time, well actually Mommy flew it and I watched in aw while it sailed around in the breeze and Rambo tried to chase it. Rambo and the kite had me laughing like crazy and grinning cheek to cheek.

-I absolutely love my octopus bubble machine. I love watching the bubbles float away and pop all over my body.

-Since my movement has increased, so has my appetite. With an increased appetite, I’ve also become a somewhat picky eater. I will eat about any veggies, but don’t really care for some fruits. Mommy started giving me some bread, which I really like and could be fed all day.

-I’m starting to get separation anxiety. I really don’t like it when my M/D leaves the room and if I don’t know you, I will hide my head in my M/D’s shoulder and grab on for dear life. I love to be the center of attention, however I don’t like when everybody stares at me at first. If you kind of ignore me, I eventually come around and then am ready to be the very outgoing one.

-Every morning and after almost every nap, Mommy finds me crawling around inspecting my crib. I normal sleep on my back, but once I’m awake I’m out to discover what’s going on in my “crib!” I love to try to get to my fish tank and the silver camera, eventually I will be able to reach them.

-If you lay me down and I really don’t want to be on my back, I will try with everything I have to sit up and I almost have it mastered.

-I love to play the standing game. Mommy will hold me and say "Ready, Ready," and then “Stand.” Of which I then stand by myself for a couple seconds. I’m gradually getting better at balancing myself and will be standing on my own before long.

-Saturday night all the girls came to my house for Jenna’s bridal shower. I got to meet Addison, the girl I’ll be going down the isle with at Jenna and Jason’s wedding. Mommy let her play with one of my favorite toys, of which I wasn’t too thrilled about, so I crawled over and got it back from her. I was passed around like an appetizer and have never had so many ooo and ahhh over how “cute” I am. It's only the beginning ladies!

-I tried rice krispies cereal for the first time this week. I really didn't know what to think of them, but enjoyed playing with them all over my tray.

Happy 8 Months to my healthy and happy son!

Jacob turned 8 months today!

He is on the go all the time and is crawling everywhere! If its Mom's crocks, Rambo, or Rambo's toys, he "Speedy Gonzaleses" (as A & I call it) over to it. Jacob loves to watch Rambo play fetch and laughs nonstop when he's chasing his ball. It's such a blessing to have a healthy and oh so happy son! I'm soo blessed!

Here's Jacob's Now and Then pics! When I showed Adam these pics, he looked at me and said, "Well honey we must be doing something right!"

“But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”-Jeremiah 17:7-8
